DIY NATURAL LIP SCRUB

When it comes to sugar, we think it’s best to keep our distance but for summertime, exfoliation is a must! This DIY recipe is a fun and easy way to make with only 3 simple, all-natural, ingredients that will keep your lips looking fresh and well hydrated.

Exfoliating with a natural scrub allows you to gently slough away that top layer of dry skin exposing the soft skin below. This allows for better
hydration when using a moisturizing lip balm or smoother application when applying lip glosses.  The ingredients we will be using are:

  • Organic Coconut Oil - Moisturizing with nourishing antioxidants
  • Organic Honey – Natural healing properties
  • Brown Sugar – Gentle exfoliator

Step 1: Make The Base

In your bowl add 1 teaspoon of solid coconut oil + 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix these two ingredients together until you have smooth consistency.

Step 2: Add The Sugar

Next, you will want to add 2 firmly packed teaspoons of brown sugar to your base. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
You can adjust your sugar to base ratio depending on your desired consistency.

Step 3: Transfer into Pot

Scrape down the sides of your bowl and transfer your soothing lip scrub into a glass mason jar, recycled lip pot or any container with a lid. Its
best stored in a cool dry place and should be used within 2 weeks because homemade cosmetics do not contain preservatives and will not
last as long.

Step 4: Application

When using the scrub, apply a generous amount to your lips gently rubbing in a circular motion for about 1 minute. Let it sit for another minute
so the healing and moisturizing properties can fully absorb and then rinse with warm water. There you have it! Healthy, moisturized and super soft lips
